Push Pull Mono-block Hard wired

Audion Sterling Plus Anniversary Push pull ended hard wired point to point using better graded components and & larger Audion wound output transformers (EI96)  hand built is our highest output most powerful amplifier. This pentode based KT88 mono-block amp uses a small amount of feedback in the design. The chassis is black powder coated aluminum as is the transformer cover. The top plate and badge are mirror finished stainless steel.

This is a mono-block design (1 amp per channel)
This larger output power amp. is better suited for more difficult loads, the KT88 is a robust tube that has a good overall sonic performance.

Amplifier matching

This Sterling is suited for use with loudspeakers of 83 - 85db or better efficiency. Ideally matched with our range of Proton or Electron cables. The amp delivers 45 watts into 8 ohms. Options are available for this model, see upgrade options at end.

Quality both inside and out

Having a volume control on the front and mono inputs on the rear means that a pre-amplifier is not necessary with this unit, but is advised . The amp is auto biased. It will take almost any KT88 or KT90 or even 6550 tubes (Unit is supplied with JJ KT88 tubes)

The Sterling is a good entry level hard wired (Air Wired©) Class A mono-block power amplifier.

The Sterling push pull is built with components sourced from Europe and the US. Where possible we avoid the use of any Chinese component. Our output transformers are wound in-house to our exacting standards and many of the components are either made by us or specifically for us. We use JJ KT88 and Russian New old stock 6H1N as a driver and input tubes.  This Sterling is our most powerful mono-block hard wired (Air Wired©) Class A power amplifier. This has both 4 and 8 ohm outputs.  Using a push pull design, this amp is designed for power, losing a little of the finesse of the PSE but still very musical.
